Responsible for strategic initiatives and sales within area of expertise Technical Services GMP Warehouse, Validations, Metrology, Testing Laboratory and Instruments Services to drive Service Department overall growth on targeted account. Incumbent will need to have the ability to thrive in a team environment. Accounts type include: Government, Education, Bio, Environmental, Medical, Food and Agricultural Clients, Clinical, Manufacturing, Electrical and Pharmaceutical industry.
Utilization of VWR sales process to drive known opportunities to completion. Strategy to meet needs of customer base and coordinating joint workdays with manufacturers based on VWR PR needs.
Introduce new Services to potential customers and actively seek to secure new business.
Coordinate sales efforts with key suppliers and account Sales Representative or Major Account Manager.
Communication of customer specific needs to other departments to assist in meeting their needs.
Proactively creating and managing promotions to facilitate sales growth.
Ability to manage business conversions and reviews effectively by understanding VWR’s capabilities and VWR’s internal operating procedures and goals and how they match to customer’s needs.
Have the ability to travel to customer’s site for sales purposes and understanding business needs.
Prepare and perform customer proposals and presentations.
Resolve any account issues in a timely fashion.
Provide the necessary technical assistance and account service to assist the customer in sourcing their scientific supply needs through VWR.
Keeping current on VWR’s capabilities and product offering by analyzing reports and other directed materials.
Be prepared to provide reports to Management that accurately portrays changing market conditions.
Participate in customer’s road shows and conventions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience & Skills:
Excellent written, communication and presentations skills in English and Spanish
Project Management a plus
Time management and organization skills
Able to work independently
Business savvy in relation to understanding individual customer operations
Problem solving skills, goal oriented and analytical skills
Ability to sell strategically within an account
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Demonstrated good team interaction skills Must have Intermediate level Excel, MS Word,
Power Point, Internet, and PC skills
Travel and Drivers licensed required
Bachelors Degree in Science, preferable
Five + years on pharmaceutical, GMP, GLP, GDP, or ISO industry
Three + years selling experience in a distribution or pharmaceutical industry including
laboratory, Quality and/or Production areas
Knowledge in GMP, GLP, GDP and ISO regulations
Environmental Working Conditions & Physical Effort:
Typically works in a office or laboratory environment with adequate lighting and ventilation and a
normal range of temperature and noise level.
Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New
alternatives may be developed to resolve problems. A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose
strain on routine basis.
Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing,
bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 50lbs.
Associate may be exposed to industrial warehouse or laboratory environment. The associate may work
near moving mechanical machinery and noise level in the work environment is of normal range.
Associate may be exposed to areas with Penicillin, Aspirin, Alcohol, Acetone and other fumes.
Associate may be required to use personal protective equipment to perform duties. Specific vision,
peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
